Job Title: Learning and Development Specialist
Department: Learning and Development

SUMMARY

The Learning and Development (L&D) Specialist is responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating engaging training programs that support employee growth and ensure operational excellence throughout the credit union. This role focuses primarily on facilitating in-person and virtual training sessions to enhance employee knowledge, skills, and service standards, with a strong emphasis on member service, compliance, systems usage, and financial product knowledge.

  • Facilitate comprehensive training for staff across all aspects of their roles, focusing on the Credit Union’s core data processing system, Engageware, products and services, and related software.
  • Conduct training sessions covering specified areas such as on-the-job training, use of computers and software, member service standards and sales techniques, safety and compliance topics, , , and staff and leadership development.
  • Utilize diverse adult learning delivery techniques to improve employee job knowledge and to positively impact Credit Union goals, such member service metrics.
  • Collaborate with the Learning and Development Manager and department heads to assess training needs, assess training efficacy, and formulate recommendations.
  • Administer e-learning programs and assess employee performance relative to their job responsibilities.
  • Monitor and track annual educational requirements and development plans for all colleagues.
  • Maintain and update training materials to reflect current processes and procedures, gaining practical insights through collaboration with relevant departments.
  • Keep up with training trends and compliance issues through ongoing education, including seminars, professional publications, and participation in training organizations.
  • Collaborate with the Learning and Development Manager to design and coordinate training for organizational projects and system upgrades as assigned.
  • Assist in creating advanced training programs for employee skill development in key operational areas as assigned.
  • Exhibit initiative, reliability, teamwork, and a positive attitude, maintaining a strong attendance record.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Member Service

  • Proactively approach issues and offer creative solutions that will make doing business with RGCU easier.
  • Assists in any other areas as directed by Senior Management and/or President/CEO.
  • Report all suspicious activity to the Risk Management department via the compliance group email.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Experience- 2 to 5 years related experience.
Education- 2-year college degree or specialized course of study OR 2 years related experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

COMPUTER SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools.
