Here at STEF Langdons Ltd, we have an amazing opportunity for a Learning and Development Team Leader to join our team.
As the Learning and Development Team Leader you will oversee the daily work of the Logistics Training Team, ensuring that all activities are planned, designed, delivered and evaluated in line with key stakeholders’ expectations, the company’s legal obligations and strategic objectives.
You will be working on a full time, permanent basis, working Monday - Friday 08:30-16:30 at our Head Office in Bridgwater.

Whether it’s fresh consignments or frozen goods we have it covered! Langdons can deliver to almost any location in the UK or Ireland within 24 hours. We have 9 depots and over 375 vehicles carrying chilled and frozen food all over the country. We’re the only company providing a 24-hour service of this kind, and we’re very good at it.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE ARE WE LOOKING FOR IN OUR LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT TEAM LEADER?

  • Experience of leading a team and/or be working towards a level 3 Management or equivilent qualification
  • Experienced in working with staff at all levels and working in a team-based office environment in a customer-facing role
  • IT literate in Microsoft Office packages and have the ability to compile, analyse and interpret relevant data
  • Proven experience of designing and delivering high quality training and devlopment solutions, both digitally and on a face to face basis

WHAT SKILLS ARE WE LOOKING FOR IN OUR LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT TEAM LEADER?

  • Ability to support, motivate and coach staff to maximise individual and team performance
  • Ability to use initiative and maximise resources to source effective solutions
  • Ability to work to fluid targets and deadlines
  • Proven verbal and written communication and arithmetic skills.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Capable of remaining calm under pressure and be able to deal with difficult conversations
  • Be prepared to travel to and assist with assessing and training colleagues at other depots on a nationwide basis.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise and lead a dispersed team of professional trainers to ensure high quality and effective learning activities consistently take place, and where further development needs arise, take appropriate action, in consultation with management where necessary, to ensure required standards and objectives are met
  • Work closely with the Training Administrator and management colleagues to ensure that statutory and company-wide training programmes are effectively co-ordinated, designed and delivered on a timely basis
  • Design and deliver learner-centric training and development activities and materials where required
  • Regularly review and report upon the quality of training and development and assessment activity being delivered, recommending any areas for further improvement
  • Act as a company ambassador externally and attend relevant meetings and public events when required
  • Commit to continuous personal and professional development and reflective practices and encourage others to do the same.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Promote company values and code of conduct in all that you do and to others you come into contact with
  • Adhere to company rules, policies, procedures consistently and encourage others to do the same
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation impacting on your role where required
