JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Learning and Development Trainer to join the UKGI Learning Solutions team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering an annual programme of high-quality training sessions on UK general insurance and wider skills development, with a focus on empowering insurance intermediaries to excel in their roles.
This position requires the ability to plan and deliver blended learning experiences, utilising the Development Zone Learning Management System (LMS) and other online platforms, with occasional in-person training sessions.
As part of a collaborative and supportive team, you will work alongside e-learning designers, educationalists, LMS administrators, technical content writers, compliance specialists, and freelance trainers to deliver innovative training solutions that meet the evolving needs of the insurance industry.

EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • A minimum of three years’ experience in technical training delivery.
  • Excellent computer and information literacy skills, with an ability to use digital learning tools and platforms.
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate and improve training effectiveness.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally, including visits to UKGI offices (especially the Learning Solutions office in Blaenavon, South Wales), and on-site client engagements where required.
  • Ability to research, comprehend, synthesise and interpret new topics and subject areas.
  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of insurance

Desirable

  • Experience in the insurance industry or a strong understanding of UK general insurance.
  • Familiarity with FCA CPD regulations or a willingness to learn.
  • Previous experience working with an LMS, particularly in hosting and managing online training programmes.

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential
Evidence of CPD or training qualifications related to technical training, online learning facilitation, or instructional design.
Desirable
Relevant qualifications in learning and development, training delivery, or education (e.g., CIPD Level 3 Certificate in Learning and Development or equivalent).
Strong academic background or relevant professional experience in the insurance sector

Responsibilities
  1. Training Delivery: Deliver an ongoing programme of engaging and interactive training sessions to insurance intermediaries, primarily online. Conduct occasional face-to-face training sessions at client sites or at UKGI’s training facilities or venues.
  2. Content Development and Planning: Design and develop high-quality training materials aligned with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Plan quarterly training schedules based on client feedback, regulatory updates, and industry trends.
  3. Programme Evaluation: Evaluate the effectiveness of training programmes through learner feedback and performance assessments. Refine training materials and methods to improve learner outcomes.
