SKILLS REQUIRED

  • A recognised teaching qualification or equivalent experience in delivering Functional Skills.
  • Experience tutoring Maths and English
  • Industry recognised qualification or experience
  • Willingness to work towards and achieve professional qualifications in line with company and awarding body requirements.
  • Functional skills level 2 or equivalent Maths and English
  • Previous experience of classroom/remote delivery
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong initiative skills to drive business objectives forward.
  • Flexible to meet the needs of the business.
  • Attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
  • Strong digital skills
  • Enthusiastic and Proactive with the ability to work independently (self - motivated) and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to liaise with staff at all levels.
  • Effective motivational skills and the ability to remain positive and professional at all times.

Responsibilities

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Complete and use initial assessment and diagnostic results to ensure learning needs are met when required.
  • Monitor learner progress to ensure learning continues and learners achieve in a timely manner.
  • Devise and implement appropriate teaching plans and learning materials for both a virtual and classroom delivery.
  • Deliver inspiring and motivational training that engages learners.
  • Support with embedding functional skills into all areas of the curriculum
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of current training sessions suggesting any improvements.
  • Coach and develop apprentices during their individual progress reviews.
  • Ensure timely completion of functional skills.
  • Strong awareness of Safeguarding, Prevent and British values.
  • Confident to deliver developmental feedback to stretch and challenge learners.
  • Maintain a high standard of compliance to meet internal and external requirements.
  • Knowledge and a high level of competency with department and company technology
  • Be able to self-reflect and identify areas for personal development.
  • Motivated ‘can do’ attitude, who strives for excellence in all areas of their role.
  • Exceptional Time Management, Organisational skills, and Attention to Detail
  • Provide exceptional customer service at all times.
