QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in an L&D, training, or education role
  • Background within restaurant/hospitality is highly desirable
  • Demonstrated ability to design, develop, and facilitate training programs
  • Track record in translating ideas and concepts into workable, practical high-impact learning solutions
  • Experience in providing learning & development and training support and assistance at a senior level
  • Advanced experience with E-Learning platforms. World Manager preferred
  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment
  • Degree in Education, Business Administration, Human Resource Management or other relevant qualification

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Learning & Development Manager, you’ll play a key role in shaping and driving Mad Mex’s training strategy across the business. You’ll design and implement training programs to improve employee performance, enhance customer service, and ensure operational excellence. Leading a team of 2, you will work closely with the leadership and field teams, to develop new initiatives, support new restaurant openings, and maintain our distinctive culture through impactful learning experiences.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Training Strategy, Design, and Delivery

  • Develop and manage training strategy for restaurants, franchise partners, and support office teams.
  • Oversee the Learning Management System (LMS) and ensure e-learning content is current and effective.

New Restaurant Openings (NRO)

  • Oversee training for new restaurant openings, ensuring new Franchisees are embedded into the “Mad Mex Way” in line with standards and budgets.

New Product Development & New Systems & Initiatives

  • Collaborate on new product rollouts, providing feedback and training materials to ensure a seamless launch across the business.
  • Evaluate and refine training programs for new systems and initiatives to ensure their effectiveness.

Operational Excellence

  • Partner with operations to identify performance gaps and develop training to improve productivity and service excellence.

Leadership & Team Management

  • As a Department Head, lead by example, living the Mad Mex core values in everything you do.
  • Lead, coach and guide the Learning & Development team to ensure their continued growth and succession planning.
  • Oversee and embed the execution of the MMLEX-Program – including check ins where required.
