POSITION SUMMARY:

The Learning & Development (L&D) Specialist is responsible for maintaining and coordinating the firm’s training programs, resources, and schedules. This role focuses on ensuring a consistent and high-quality training experience for new and existing team members. The L&D Specialist will evaluate learners’ progress, provide coaching – including on phone etiquette – and support the rollout of new training projects. Strong phone skills and comfort speaking with clients or colleagues by phone are essential.
While preference will be given to internal candidates and applicants local to Rhode Island who can work in-office as needed, remote candidates will be considered.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s Degree or equivalent professional experience preferred
  • Classroom teaching or facilitation experience
  • Experience in legal, professional services, or training-focused environment
  • Comfort and proficiency in phone-based communication; ability to coach others
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; ability to learn new software tools
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with a variety of stakeholder

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and update existing training programs in collaboration with department leads
  • Schedule and coordinate all training sessions, ensuring trainers and trainees are prepared
  • Monitor and evaluate learner progress; provide feedback and refresher training as needed
  • Deliver training on phone skills and etiquette; model strong phone skills and coach others to improve
  • Maintain and organize training resources, documentation, and materials
  • Assist in onboarding new hires to ensure a smooth transition into their roles
  • Support the implementation of new training projects and initiatives
  • Manage Learning Management System (LMS) enrollments and generate reports
  • Participate in activities to enhance your own knowledge of L&D practices
