JOB SUMMARY

The Learning & Development Specialist, Concentration: Career Development is responsible for supporting training and development initiatives within the HR department. Key duties include scheduling and coordinating training programs, managing the Learning Management System (LMS), acting as back up to deliver training sessions, and assisting in the design and development of L&D initiatives.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in career development and adult learning or equivalent
  • Must have PC experience and working knowledge of Windows, PowerPoint, Prezi, Word, Excel or other similar programs required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 5 years of experience in adult learning and career development
  • Familiarity with Adobe Suite and AI productivity tools
  • Experience with career development programs, job frameworks, or competency models
  • Experience in career pathing strategy design or implementation
  • Familiarity with competency mapping, skills frameworks, or career lattice models
  • Experience using LMS (Learning Management Systems) and talent management systems (e.g., Cornerstone, Workday, SuccessFactors)
  • Data literacy – ability to interpret metrics and make data-driven decisions

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND CHARACTERISTICS

  • Must possess extensive knowledge of technology and business operations as they relate to training
  • Must be able to use time productively, maximize efficiency, and meet challenging work goals while maintaining high-quality standards
  • High level of effective interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism with respect to appearance, communication, and behavior
  • Understanding of competency-based frameworks
Responsibilities
  • Plans, coordinates, and communicates all aspects of classroom training—including location, scheduling, materials, and attendance—including but not limited to HR Quarterly New Hire Orientation.
  • Collects, compiles, and reports results of evaluation, attendance, and training data by managing and maintaining the company’s LMS.
  • Manages the training attendance process, ensuring accurate data entry and tracking of training completion to support the GA Training Tax Credit; provides all required information to the third-party vendor.
  • Serves as backup to coordinate and manage the Morning Blend learning sessions.
  • Serves as the backup resource for external course/training registrations, communications, and documentation for reporting purposes.
  • Assists with the design and development of company Career Paths, curriculum, and position specific learning pathways.
  • Assists with the design and development of other Learning & Development initiatives.
  • Supports all learning and development initiatives and performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
