Journey Enterprises is a local charity which was founded by parents of young people with learning disability and complex needs over 40 years ago. Launched in Northumberland we now operate across the north east. We have four Day Centres: Acomb and Blyth (Northumberland), Coundon (County Durham) and Newcastle upon Tyne.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Care experience in a relevant setting
  • NVQ level 2 in Health & Social Care for Adults - must have or be willing to work towards.
  • Skills in medication administration and behaviour management - desired
  • Valid driver’s license
    Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

  • Confident IT skills i.e. Windows, Microsoft 365 (email, Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, Excel, Yammer, Teams) and Adobe, web Chat Forums, Video Conference Calling (FaceTime, Zoom and MS Teams), social media (Facebook and Instagram) or willingness to train in these packages - desirable
  • Disability-specialist training e.g. positive behaviour support, person-centred practice, autism awareness, Makaton, BSL - desirable
  • D1 minibus licence & MiDAS or willingness to work towards - desirable
