About the role
The Learning Facilitator will provide an excellent customer focused service in the delivery of support for all College learners, both face to face and online. They will direct and support learners to use the most appropriate resources available that meet their needs and develop independent learning. Learning Facilitators will be expected to undertake appropriate training to develop their knowledge and practical application of learning resources, both physical and online. They will develop subject specialisms to provide a tailored support to teaching staff and learners in designated vocational areas.
There are two part time positions available for this post, working 20 hours per week, 38 weeks per year, term time.

Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent customer service to all users of the Learning Resources Centre’s and Library and their services (physical and remote)
  • Supporting learners with literacy, numeracy and ICT skills
  • Develop strong links with curriculum staff to plan and deliver support for learners and their learning
  • Develop and maintain subject specialisms through their own continuous professional development to support vocational learners
  • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of the full range of college learning resources, directing/supporting learners in accessing and utilising them
  • Document and provide guidance materials supporting the use of both newly adopted and established learning resources
  • Promote, develop and assist with the evaluation and impact of resources
  • Support the development of independent research and study skills of learners appropriate to their level
