What’s the job?
The Learning Facilitator/Lecturer is responsible for preparing, delivering and assessing subjects as allocated. Lecturers must work to ensure students are provided with the best opportunity to attain learning outcomes/competencies and satisfactorily complete their assessment tasks. Lecturers must participate in course review initiatives, including validation and moderation activities and are required to be available to provide student support outside of timetabled class hours.
This role involves teaching foundational and common core subjects in Health Science and research to students enrolled in Nursing, Nutrition, Community services, Naturopathy, Chinese medicine and Aesthetics courses. Subjects include Human anatomy and physiology, Biochemistry, evidence-based practice, clinical assessment and pathophysiology subjects. This role requires facilitation of both face-to-face and online classes. This role is ideal for those who are enrolled /recently graduated with a PhD/ with relevant experience looking to build an academic career.
Learning Facilitators may also be delegated special projects or duties related to the management of subjects or programs, academic quality, subject development, or research.
Importantly, Learning Facilitators are required to stay abreast of their discipline by undertaking relevant professional development activities and maintaining their proficiency/currency through a self-directed program of academic scholarship.
