SEN TEACHING ASSISTANT/LEARNING MENTOR – (AUTISM/SEMH)

South West London | Long Term to Permanent | PAYE Only | Immediate or September Start
£90 - £95 PAYE per day, weekly payment
Are you an aspiring teacher, psychologist, or therapist looking for hands-on experience in a SEND school? Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with Autism, Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH)?
We are working with several specialist SEND schools across South West London who are looking for committed and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to join them on a long term to permanent basis. These are full-time roles to start ASAP or in September.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply for one)
  • Right to work in the UK (sponsorship not available for these roles)
  • Flexibility to work across different boroughs in South West London – including Wandsworth, Richmond, Kingston, Sutton, Surrey and Merton

Responsibilities

THE ROLE – WHAT TO EXPECT:

  • Supporting children and young people aged 7 –19 with a range of needs, including Autism, SEMH, and communication difficulties
  • Working in highly specialised, sensory-rich settings designed for pupils with complex needs
  • Working 121 with young people and children who are disengaged in education, who struggle to regulate behaviour and feel left out.
  • Assisting with hydrotherapy, rebound therapy, and sensory play sessions
  • Supporting emotional regulation and managing behaviours that challenge positively and patiently
  • Collaborating with teachers, therapists and SENCOs to deliver a holistic and therapeutic learning experience
