JOB OVERVIEW

We are recruiting for a Learning & Programme Coordinator to support the delivery of a range of engagement activities, educational programmes and citizen science activities, which help Earthwatch achieve its mission.
Working closely with the Learning Managers and Project Managers, you will support planning and development of inspiring learning resources for a range of audiences, including formal education. You will also support key relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

REQUIREMENTS

Essential

  • A demonstrable passion and enthusiasm for environmental issues across a wide range of topics, which enables you to engage others.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to successfully work with diverse audiences and build strong relationships.
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills –ability to multi task, work well under pressure, and a proactive attitude towards completing tasks
  • Ability to collate and process data from a range of sources, preparing clear information which informs project management and planning.
  • Flexible, self-motivated, with excellent time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with high attention to detail
  • Excellent IT skills: Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Commitment to undertaking a DBS check – required for this role.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Earthwatch.

Desirable

  • A degree in an environmental science related discipline or experience of working in the environmental sector and/or professional qualification in teaching or equivalent professional experience.
  • Previous work experience in administrative positions or other work experience within an office environment
  • Knowledge of the education sector and national curriculums of the United Kingdom.
  • Experience of delivering workshops, presentations or events with school groups, youth groups, teachers or community groups.
  • Experience of creating compelling communications for reports and various online platforms (website and social media).
  • Clean driving licence

The nature of the role will require travel to UK-based delivery locations, and the postholder will be expected to be flexible and able to meet this requirement.

OTHER INFORMATION

In order to work in schools and with young people and vulnerable adults in communities, the post-holder will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
The role will involve some evening and weekend working, and also occasional lone working, and the post-holder will be required to comply with appropriate local safeguarding systems to ensure their own safety.
