Learning Support Assistant Job Opportunity

📍 Location: Hertfordshire💼 Contract: Full-time, Permanent💰 Salary: H3–H5, £26,847 – £30,515 (term-time)📅 Start: ASAP

Launch Education are working with a specialist school in Hertfordshire, who are looking to appoint enthusiastic and compassionate Learning Support Assistants to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.

The school provides specialist education and support for young people with additional learning and/or complex needs, creating a highly supportive environment where students can receive the individual attention they need to thrive.

With class sizes of approximately 10 students, LSAs have the opportunity to build strong relationships with pupils and provide meaningful, individualised support rather than working within large mainstream classrooms.

The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and the wider support team to provide high-quality support to students across the school.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing one-to-one and small-group support to students
  • Supporting students with their learning and engagement in lessons
  • Helping pupils develop confidence, independence and positive learning behaviours
  • Working alongside teachers to adapt and deliver effective support
  • Building positive and trusting relationships with students
  • Supporting the wider pastoral and learning environment
  • Contributing to a positive, inclusive and supportive school culture

The Ideal Candidate

The school is looking for someone who is:

  • Passionate about supporting children and young people
  • Patient, approachable and compassionate
  • Confident working both independently and as part of a team
  • Able to build strong relationships with students
  • Reliable, resilient and enthusiastic
  • Previous experience working in a school or with young people is desirable, but not essential

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive school community in a permanent position, with a competitive Hertfordshire salary scale and the opportunity to make a genuine difference to students' lives.
