JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to provide one-on-one or group support to children with additional learning needs, ensuring they can fully access the curriculum and thrive in our inclusive environment.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with children in an early years setting.
  • CACHE Level 2 or 3, or equivalent qualification in Early Childhood Education/SEN (preferred).
  • Experience working with children with additional needs (autism, speech delay, developmental delay, etc.) is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • A caring, patient, and positive attitude.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Willingness to undergo ongoing professional development.
Responsibilities
  • Support the learning and development of children with special educational needs (SEN) or additional needs.
  • Assist the class teacher in planning and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment that promotes positive behavior and emotional well-being.
  • Help students engage in classroom activities and adapt learning materials to their level.
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and parents to monitor and report on student progress.
  • Provide support during transitions, playtime, meal times, and other routines.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure confidentiality at all times.
