JOB SUMMARY

The Learning Support Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the educational and developmental needs of children, particularly those with special educational needs. This position involves working closely with students, curriculum leads, and parents to create an inclusive learning environment that fosters growth and independence. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education and a commitment to helping children achieve their full potential.

EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience working with children, particularly those with autism or other disabilities, is highly desirable.
  • A background in teaching or special education will be advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment are essential. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children while developing valuable skills in the field of education.

Responsibilities
  • Support to deliver tailored educational programmes for children with autism and other disabilities.
  • Provide one-on-one support to students, helping them engage with learning materials and activities.
  • Foster a positive and encouraging atmosphere that promotes confidence and self-esteem among students.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to develop individual learning plans and monitor student progress.
  • Support the social and emotional development of students through effective communication and interaction.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour, reporting any concerns to the appropriate staff members.
  • Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills in special education.
