Description:

Job Title: Learning Support Assistant
– Variety of hours available (we welcome applicants for part time and full-time positions – all roles are 38 weeks term time only)
Salary: Scale 4, Point 18-19 £22,078 to £23,676 per annum (1FTE) pro rata
Contract: MC Teaching Support, Permanent, Term Time Only – 38wks
Hours: Variety of hours available up to full time (37 hours)
Pension: Teesside Pension Scheme (LGPS)

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • An appropriate Level 2 qualification or equivalent in supporting students with learning difficulties/care or the commitment to complete within an agreed timescale.
  • Grade C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent).
  • A commitment to undertake any mandatory training relevant to the role.
  • Vocational qualification at Level 2 – desirable.

Responsibilities:

The Learning Support Assistant will report directly to a SEN Team Leader to provide high quality learning support, ensuring all aspects of the students’ requirements for support are met whilst they are in college.
In joining the ALS team at Middlesbrough College, you will play a vital role in our recently Ofsted inspected Outstanding High Needs provision. Staff joining the department will become part of an inclusive, welcoming, and supportive team with a diverse range of skills, backgrounds, and passions; all of which are aligned to supporting students to achieve their very best.
