Job Title: Learning Support Assistant
Location: Newport, UK
Contract Type: Full-Time / Part-Time (Term-Time Only)
Salary: £90 – £115 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience supporting children with ALN, PMLD, or severe learning difficulties.
• Patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach to working with young learners.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Willingness to support with personal care and physical support as needed.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a busy school environment.

• Provide one-to-one and small group support for children with ALN and PMLD.
• Assist pupils with personal care, physical needs, and communication where required.
• Follow individual learning plans and support strategies set by teachers and SENCOs.
• Use specialist techniques and tools (e.g., sensory resources, Makaton, PECS) to aid learning.
• Encourage engagement, confidence, and independence in all students.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
• Track progress and communicate effectively with teaching staff and parents where appropriate.
