Introduction
Do you want to share your strengths with a young person who needs support with getting ready for living in the adult world? The transition from childhood to adulthood is not an easy one. For some young people there are extra challenges which can make it hard to see how earning a wage and paying bills would ever be a possibility.
New Meaning Training delivers learning programmes that are designed to empower and support young people in everyday fundamentals for living life more independently. Tutors and Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) support learners as they acquire skills for employment, training, life skills and personal development as well as English and Maths Functional Skills.
If you are a caring person who is interested in motivating, inspiring and building a rapport with young people, to help them with their life, work-skills and employability, then a LSA role at New Meaning Training (NMT) will be a job where you can get paid whilst making a difference! NMT is currently looking for an LSA who has empathy, patience, and compassion to work with learners aged between 16-25 in our new Nuneaton Centre.
Successful applicants will be supporting students with their learning and or social and emotional needs that match your skill set and personality. Our learner’s profiles vary greatly so we welcome a variety of applicants. Ultimately, we’re looking for well-rounded people with an understanding that if the right support and adjustments are made, barriers can be removed to enable learning and access to life.
You may already have experience of supporting young people, but equally it may be that you have strengths and experience in a particular sector of work that would really add value for the learner’s work skills.
A large proportion of our learners have Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs) - a document which sets out the education, healthcare, and social care needs of learners for whom extra support is needed. All learners at NMT have varying levels and areas of need such as: autism, ADHD, anxiety, attachment disorder, dyslexia, experience of trauma, social emotional needs, and learning difficulties amongst others. Come and work with one of our teams who dedicate themselves to supporting young people in energising, inclusive and caring work environments.

About Us
New Meaning Training (NMT) offers education with a difference. We are an alternative education provider dedicated to helping young people aged 15-25 discover their strengths and develop the confidence and skills to earn their own living.
For the 2025-2026 academic year, around 300 young people from Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Warwickshire, West Midlands, and Berkshire will join one of our programmes. Many of these students are referred by secondary schools, pupil referral units, and Special Education Needs settings.
Our journey began in 2015 with the opening of our first centre in High Wycombe, originally known as “Toolshed.” Ten years on, NMT continues to grow, with new centres planned for Nuneaton and Milton Keynes in September 2025.
Our NMT Warwickshire centres offer five learning programmes: Construction Multiskills, Motor Mechanics, Creative Art & Design, Sports and Computing. They incorporate functional skills qualifications in Maths and English, along with tutorials to support our well-rounded approach. We also provide a ‘Transition Support’ programme for young people with EHCPs who are not yet ready for a learning setting.
NMT tailors its programmes to meet the needs of its learners, considering Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. We comprehensively apply the principles of a Loving Care Approach (Trauma Informed Practice) to ensure all young people receive the support they need to thrive.

NMT takes Safeguarding seriously; therefore, all staff are required to undergo a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check at the enhanced level before working with us. Further information can be obtained from https://www.gov.uk
