LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANT

Location: Leeds, West Yorkshire
Employment Type: Full-Time and Part-Time opportunities
Pay: £90 - £95 per day

If so, we have exciting opportunities for you to join our team as a Learning Support Assistant in the Leeds area to support out partner secondary schools with a range of daily and long-term/permanent positions.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience: Direct or transferable experience in a similar role, with a proven ability to manage challenging behaviour.
  • Qualifications: Additional training or qualifications such as Team Teach or MAPPA or PRICE are highly desirable.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, patience, and resilience.

Responsibilities
  • Support Class Teacher: Take direction from the class teacher and support where needed.
  • Support Students: Work closely with students who exhibit challenging behaviour, providing them with the necessary support to thrive academically, emotionally and socially.
  • Behaviour Management: Implement behaviour management strategies to maintain a positive and safe learning environment.
  • Individual Plans: Develop and follow individual behaviour plans tailored to each student’s needs.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
  • De-escalation: Use de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention strategies when necessary. (if you are Team Teach trained, this would be very advantageous when applying for this role).
