Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)? Do you have the patience, empathy, and resilience to support pupils with complex needs? If so, we’d love to hear from you.
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our specialist ASD provision, which supports both primary and secondary aged pupils. Our setting offers a nurturing and structured environment where every child is supported to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
About the Role:

As an LSA in our specialist provision, you will:

  • Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and therapists to support pupils on the autism spectrum.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support tailored to individual EHCPs.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies.
  • Help pupils access learning through tailored resources and differentiated support.
  • Support communication using approaches such as PECS, Makaton, and visual timetables.
  • Foster independence and social development both in and out of the classroom.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with children or young people with ASD and/or additional learning needs. and/or experience in relevant settings; Youth Work, Residential Childcare, Support work
  • A calm, patient, and adaptable approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Understanding of or willingness to learn about strategies such as TEACCH, sensory integration, or Zones of Regulation.
  • A commitment to inclusion and equal opportunities

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • Relevant training or qualifications in SEN or autism support is desirable, but not essential.

Pay: £18,619.00-£20,571.00 per year

Experience:

  • TA/LSA: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • DBS on the update service (preferred)
  • Driving Licence (preferred)
