Job Title: Learning Support Assistant
Location: Chelmsford
Hours: 5 days per week | 8:30am – 4pm
Start Date: September 2025

Spencer Clarke Education have partnered with an award winning further education college based in Chelmsford. The college are seeking dedicated Learning Support Assistants to support students with a range of learning disabilities and complex needs, including profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), ASD, communication needs, behavioural needs and personal care requirements.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a nurturing, well-resourced setting that offers excellent support and training for staff committed to inclusive education.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience in SEND, care, or educational settings
  • Comfortable with personal care and high-needs support
  • Patient, kind-natured and physically fit for a hands-on role
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Spencer Clarke Group work with a variety of schools covering a wide geographical area. We deal with teaching placements at Primary, Secondary, Special Education needs and college level as well as support staff positions also within these.

Responsibilities
  • Support young adults across college setting, aged 16-19
  • Assist with daily routines, learning activities, personal care, and mobility needs
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff
  • Use non-verbal communication strategies
  • Promote a safe, structured and caring environment for learning and development
