We are looking for a dedicated and resilient Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in Blackpool. This is a rewarding opportunity to support young people who may face social, emotional and behavioural challenges, helping them to thrive both in and out of the classroom.

The Role:

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with SEMH needs, both one-to-one and in small groups.
  • Work closely with teachers to deliver engaging, inclusive and structured learning.
  • Support pupils in developing positive relationships, emotional resilience and coping strategies.
  • Assist with behaviour management and encourage participation in all aspects of school life.
  • Contribute to creating a safe, supportive and nurturing environment for all learners.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with young people with SEN/SEMH is desirable – whether as a Teaching Assistant, Youth Worker, Sports Coach, Support Worker, or through personal/lived experience.
  • A patient, empathetic and resilient attitude.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues.
  • A genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of young people.
