ABOUT US:

Oaklea Trust are seeking a Learning Support Assistant to support the Learning2Live programme based in Windermere.
The Learning2Live programme supports young people with learning disabilities in their transition from school to adulthood. This is an alternative to a residential college and takes learning a step further by equipping young people with the skills to live independently.
Learning2Live offers a wide variety of opportunities for learning. The three-year programme will support six learners, living and learning together in a shared house within the local community.

THE CANDIDATE:

We are looking for a range of transferrable skills, including good organisation, self-motivation, and having the determination to support people to succeed. You must be passionate, committed and share our values.
You must hold Full Driving license and use of a vehicle for work and will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS check (Paid for by Oaklea Trust, T&Cs apply)

Responsibilities

Learners will be supported over the three years through a mix of accredited and non-accredited learning. Through the Open Awards qualifications, learners will have the opportunity to progress in a range of subject areas that have been designed to promote independence within their home and community and assist them on their journey towards employment.
Our Learners will be supported to gain work experience which will introduce them to the world of work, starting them on their journey towards employment.
