In this role, you will:
Coordinate and enhance learning support for students with diverse needs
Work closely with teachers, whānau, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for students
Provide a key contact for whānau of tamariki with learning support needs, helping them to partner successfully with our kura
Provide expertise in PB4L, structured literacy, inclusive practices, student wellbeing, and neurodiversity
Champion a collaborative and responsive approach to learning support
Bring skills, knowledge, caring and values to the role of the team.
Help identify, understand and plan for the needs of these learners in our local community.
The successful applicant will have:
demonstrated successful experience in working with young people with learning support needs in the classroom
A sound knowledge, commitment to, and understanding of the learning support system and the Learning Support Action Plan priorities
An understanding of te ao Māori and a commitment to upholding the principles of te Tiriti o Waitangi
Met professional standards relevant to their current position.
An understanding of the secondary context and the needs of learners who are entitled to Special Assessment Conditions for NCEA assessments will also be important.
