Description Department: Driver Services Reports To: Director of Ops Support Job Status: Full Time Amount of Travel Required: None Positions Supervised: None Work Schedule: Monday – Friday Pay Range: $50,000 - 55,000 POSITION SUMMARY Leasing Agent is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the lease program at J&R Schugel Trucking, Inc. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Educate and motivate independent contractors on successful business practices. • Complete all legal documents required for leasing equipment (i.e. equipment lease and hauling agreement). • Take and review applications for leasing. • Collaborate and train recruiting team on lease terms and driver qualifications for lease program. • Coordinate with drivers, operations, and maintenance to prepare equipment. • Maintain open truck list for available lease trucks. • Generate reports as requested for balance owed, asset detail, depreciation amount, and current mileage on all lease equipment. • Assign unit numbers for lease equipment and generate equipment leases between Waterstreet and J&R Schugel Trucking, Inc. • License and obtain plates for trucks and trailers from the DMV on all new purchases, as well as transfer of plates. • Registration renewals. • Ensure alcohol permits are up to date and renew as needed. • Complete all necessary documents to title equipment in the state of Minnesota. • Complete required paperwork for lien holder changes. • Give independent contractors buyout numbers on their equipment or other options available at the time of lease completion. • Renew completed lease agreements. • Maintain and file lessee destinations. • Maintain and file insurance policies and applications. • Approve monthly physical damage and bobtail invoice. • Submit applications, update AS400 and approve monthly bill for ATBS. • Generate weekly net settlement history. • Follow up research for terminated independent contractors - shop billing discrepancies, changes to invoice charges and expected payout calculations. • Oversee annual reporting and tax filing (i.e. Minnesota Sales and Use Tax, Waterstreet Dealer Renewal, Highway Use Tax/IRS and JRS Annual Hauling Agreement). • Assist in driver retention for independent contractors. • Quarterly reporting - IFTA, FL sales tax, NM hut, KY hut and CT hut. • Quarterly reefer refunds. • Month end reporting - mileage, OR hut and NY hut. • Performs other duties as assigned or directed by Supervisor. SKILLS & ABILITIES Computer Skills Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. AS400, Innovative software, and Qualcomm/GeoTab experience preferred. Other Requirements Ability to type a minimum of 35 wpm. Able to read, write, and speak the English language fluently. Good written and verbal communications skills. Strong mathematical aptitude (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division). US geography knowledge. High levels of typing required. Problem solving skills. Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR) and Hours of Service (HOS) regulations.
