Devon Properties is seeking a motivated and personable Leasing Specialist to join our growing team in Victoria, BC! In this role, you’ll play a key part in guiding prospective tenants through the leasing process, from touring properties to signing leases. As a Leasing Specialist, you will be instrumental in driving leasing and resident relations initiatives for a portfolio of properties. This involves monitoring and analyzing key property metrics (such as vacancies, renewals, signed leases, and notices), managing essential paperwork, and ensuring the precise and timely completion of all leasing documentation. QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience in leasing residential and multifamily apartment buildings is preferred, or experience in a related industry.
  • Active Property Management License or Real Estate Trading Services License considered an asset
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, Outlook, CRM software, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Strong data analytics skills and familiarity with contract administration
  • Excellent communication, presentation, sales & closing skills abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail with exceptional time-management, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
  • Highly organized, disciplined, and able to thrive in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills for engaging with internal and external stakeholders, clients, and professionals.

Responsibilities
  • Market and showcase available suites to prospective tenants, guiding them through the application process and ensuring timely submission to the Rentals and Property Management departments for approval.
  • Oversee all advertising, media channels, promotional programs, and signage for assigned properties, recommending updates or new strategies as needed.
  • Facilitate the leasing process by managing lease signings, schedules, assignments, addendums, tenancy agreements, and supporting documents, ensuring their accurate and timely completion.
  • Maintain an organized prospective tenant database, ensuring prompt responses to inquiries and proper documentation of all interactions.
  • Stay well-informed about property details, including suite availability, layouts, building amenities, and the surrounding neighborhood to provide potential tenants with comprehensive information.
  • Schedule property viewings and diligently record all activity within the property management database.
  • Conduct daily inspections of vacant suites to ensure they are show-ready and in excellent condition for potential tenants.
  • Communicate with applicants regularly, keeping them updated on the status of their applications and ensuring a smooth process.
  • Ensure full compliance with relevant legislation, including the BC Residential Tenancy Act, Fire Code, and Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing tenant requests and concerns promptly and fairly, escalating to the Property Manager when necessary.
