LEAVE ADMINISTRATION SPECIALIST

Location: Houston, TX 77042 (on-site)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Salary: $68,000–$70,000 per year (Direct Hire)

POSITION OVERVIEW

Seeking a knowledgeable Leave Administration Specialist to manage federal, state, and local leave programs—including FMLA, ADA accommodations, and workers’ compensation—across U.S. operations. This role is in-office and requires precision, regulatory expertise, and strong collaboration with Payroll and HR partners.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field preferred
  • Having experience with 1500+ employees
  • 2–4 years of experience in leave administration or similar HR role
  • Expertise in FMLA and multi-state leave laws; familiarity with ADA and worker’s comp
  • HRIS experience (e.g., Ceridian Dayforce preferred), including data reporting
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills—especially Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables), Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; strong interpersonal and service skills
  • Detail‑oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Responsibilities
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in FMLA, state paid family leaves, ADA, USERRA, and related laws
  • Administer the full leave process: case setup, third-party system entries, HRIS updates (e.g., Dayforce), and return-to-work coordination
  • Maintain confidential and timely leave records; identify over/under-payments in liaison with Payroll
  • Communicate policy details and case status to employees, managers, and HR partners
  • Partner with Sr. Leave Specialist and other team members to ensure compliance and case resolution
  • Generate regular leave status reports and analytics
  • Stay current on evolving leave-related legislation and recommend improvements
