Li Ka Shing School of Professional & Continuing Education (LiPACE) The Li Ka Shing School of Professional and Continuing Education (LiPACE) is one of the seven constituent schools of Hong Kong Metropolitan University. Originally established in 1992 as the Centre for Continuing and Community Education (CCCE) and renamed as LiPACE in 2000, it has carried out its original mission of serving the broadest range of learners in HK. LiPACE is now an established Vocational Professional Education and Training (VPET) provider of full-time post-secondary education and part-time professional and continuing education as well as corporate training. At the same time, it advances non-formal learning through its two flagship programmes for women and senior learners, the Capacity Building Mileage Programme (CBMP) and Elderly Academy at Hong Kong Metropolitan University (EAMU). Over the years, LiPACE has developed into an established and mature post-secondary, continuing and professional education provider which makes an important contribution to the University. It performs complementary but vital roles in fulfilling the University's founding mission of providing education for all, as evidenced by the extensive range of disciplines covered and study levels of its programmes, as well as the diversity in age, nationality and occupation of its learners. We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the LiPACE: Major Duties and Responsibilities The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following: Teaching basic medical science courses (Basic Pharmacology, Common Medicines and Supplements in Use, Introduction to Molecular and Cellular Biology, Human Pathophysiology, Human Anatomy and Physiology) at Higher Diploma; Undertaking programme/course planning, development and coordination (including work-integrated learning); Participating in School/University activities and administration; Providing support in relevant subject/ programme teams, where necessary; Engaging in professional/scholarly activities; and Performing any other duties as assigned by the Dean (LiPACE) or his/her nominee. Candidates Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence: A higher degree in any of the above-mentioned teaching areas and/or a professional qualification such as registered pharmacists, registered nurses and other allied health professionals; Teaching/administration experience in tertiary/continuing education and/or professional experience in related subject area; and Good interpersonal skills with proficiency in both English and Chinese (preferably including Putonghua).
