LANGUAGE CENTRE Lecturer I/II in Spanish (25260626) Responsibilities: * Teach undergraduate Spanish language/Spanish culture courses; * Provide leadership in the design, preparation, and revision of syllabuses, assessments, and teaching materials including self-access language learning materials; * Integrate technology to enhance foreign language teaching and learning; * Organise events, workshops, and co-curricular activities that enhance students’ language proficiency, as well as cultural and global competence, and * Perform other duties assigned by the Head and the Foreign Languages Section Head of the Language Centre.  Requirements: * Applicants should have a relevant master’s degree or above; * At least 6 years of tertiary-level teaching experience and proven expertise in teaching Spanish as a foreign language preferably to Asian learners; * Native or near native proficiency in Spanish and fluency in English are required; and * Experience in course coordination and development as well as excellent organisational and communication skills are also required.  Applicants with less experience may be considered for a Lecturer II post. Applicants are required to (i) specify how their qualifications match the above requirements in an English cover letter and CV; and (ii) provide their latest teaching evaluation reports and supporting documents in their application. The initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of one to two years commencing September 2026. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to performance review, mutual agreement and availability of funding. Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
