POSITION OVERVIEW
The Department of Near Eastern and South Asian Languages and Cultures (NESA) seeks to appoint one (1) 100% Lecturer position (non-tenure track) in Arabic culture starting in autumn semester of the 2025-2026 academic year. This is a one-year position with the possibility of renewal.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Required: Master’s degree in Arabic language and culture or a related field. Open to a range of specializations, including Arabic literature, linguistics, philology, and the history of Arab cultures. Preference will be given to applicants who are highly proficient in both Arabic and English; have demonstrated excellence in teaching Arabic culture, literature, and language courses at the college level; and have experience using technology to enhance undergraduate learning.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Open to a range of specializations, including Arabic literature, linguistics, philology, and the history of Arab cultures. Ability to teach an Arabic dialect that is not Levantine Arabic.
