INTERVIEW DATE(S): WEEKS COMMENCING 08 AND 15 SEPTEMBER 2025

We are seeking to appoint to a post of Lecturer in Computer Science with specialisation in one or more of the following areas:

  • Programming (e.g. Python, Java, C#)
  • Software Engineering and Development Practices
  • DevOps and Agile Methodologies
  • Web and Mobile Application Development
  • Cybersecurity and Information Assurance
  • Databases and Data Management
  • Artificial Intelligence and Data Science

The post holder will be expected to lecture on modules and programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The post holder will have the ability to offer knowledge and experience particularly in the above areas of specialisation, although expertise to flexibly support other computing-related disciplines is desirable. The post holder will also be expected to develop and manage critical aspects of the expanding research and enterprise activities within the Technology subject area.

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential;

  • Degree qualification or equivalent in a relevant subject area.
  • Professional Recognition as HEA Fellow (D2) or teaching qualification recognised by HESA, or willingness to obtain within an agreed timescale.

Desirable;

  • Master’s degree in relevant subject.
  • Doctorate in relevant subject, completed or within 12 months of completion.
  • Relevant professional qualification.

THE FACULTY OF EDUCATION, ARTS TECHNOLOGY

The Faculty of Education Arts, Science & Technology is one of three in the University of Northampton with around 180 academic staff and approximately 3000 students on campus. We are organised into 6 subject groups, and offer a broad portfolio of programmes at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels including degree apprenticeships. We also deliver some programmes via distance learning and maintain a number of successful academic partnerships in the UK and internationally through which several of our programmes are delivered.
The Technology Subject Area offers a diverse portfolio of Undergraduate and Postgraduate degrees in Computing, Engineering and Games.
