Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an academic leader for Digital Health and Clinical Trials to develop a new Digital Health Trial and Research Portfolio for Imperial Clinical Trials Unit (ICTU). ICTU works to bring together academic, trial management and data systems expertise, with the statistical and methodological group being a key component. Trial designs range across stages but are mostly focused on late phase efficacy and confirmatory trials.
Traditional clinical trials are resource intensive, and a large part of this is due to operational processes. Data-enabled trials use digital technologies to identify, recruit, monitor and collect and track outcomes. They offer advantages such as lower costs, faster recruitment, and greater participant diversity. We are seeking an individual to develop and lead a new trial and research portfolio for ICTU in Digital Health.

WHAT YOU WOULD BE DOING

You will:

  • Lead a new digital health trial team and research stream that you will develop and secure funding for, with the support of senior academic colleagues.
  • Work closely with the Head of Trial Statistics and Head of Trial Methodology to manage the wider running and management of statistics and methods research in ICTU.
  • Work with members of the ICTU statistics team to provide high quality statistical advice and analysis for the design of clinical trials and development of funding applications.
  • Form part of the Senior Management team for ICTU and the Statistics Management team.
  • Develop and lead teaching sessions on digital health in clinical trials for Imperial.
  • Contribute to teaching activities for ICTU and the School of Public Health at the expected level for an academic post. This will include delivery of lectures, development of assessments, supervision of master students, and marking for undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
