ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Computing.
· Minimum Level 2 qualification (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
· A commitment to safeguarding and promoting a safe learning environment.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
· PGCE/Cert Ed or equivalent teaching qualification (or willingness to undertake training).
· Experience teaching in the post-16 sector or working in a commercial environment.
· Industry experience in network administration and familiarity with CISCO.
· An Assessors Award (or willingness to undertake training).
· Familiarity with virtualisation technologies and an awareness of Equality and Diversity practices.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Lecturer in Digital Technologies, you will deliver high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment to empower students/apprentices to achieve their goals and progress in their careers. You will maintain academic standards, inspire motivation, and contribute to the dynamic development of our curriculum, ensuring a positive and inclusive learning experience for all.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Deliver engaging and effective teaching in Computing covering a wide range of topics such as Networking, Data bases and systems, Digital Content and SQL.
· Plan and assess learning activities, creating schemes of work and assessment plans.
· Act as a course tutor to provide pastoral care and academic guidance to students.
· Responsible for Apprenticeship caseloads within the Digital department, including assessments and reviews.
· Track and monitor student progress, utilizing College systems effectively.
· Participate in learner recruitment, including interviews and taster events.
· Support the college’s mission by upholding high standards of behaviour, discipline, and punctuality.
· Contribute to administrative tasks, meetings, and educational coordination activities.
