The Department of Economics at Manchester wishes to appoint one Lecturer in Economics (Economic History, Teaching & Scholarship) from September 2025.
We wish to appoint an innovative, engaging and dynamic colleague who will be able to enhance the quality of our teaching and improve the student experience at Manchester. The candidates will be responsible for mainly UG teaching in Economic History and related areas. This could be large and compulsory core units for economics students. Your responsibility will be course design, formative and summative assessment design, course unit VLE design, delivery of large and small group teaching and coordination of the teaching team. An important and significant part of the colleague’s responsibilities will also be the provision of small group teaching in a variety of units.
In addition to the teaching responsibilities the colleague will be expected to contribute to the program management and general teaching administration in the Economics department.
In addition to course specific engagement the colleague will also contribute to developing economic resources relating to generic study and employability skills and will be involved in other administrative and pastoral duties.
