This exciting role within the School of Creative and Digital Industries is for a Lecturer in Event Management. We are looking for a candidate with experience in at least one of the following areas:

  • Planning and delivering a wide range of events, including cultural events, corporate events, charity events, and/or other types of live events, from concept to completion.
  • Event operations and experience design, with a successful track record of executing impactful events.
  • The use of technology and software tools in the event design process, ensuring innovative and efficient event delivery.
  • Teaching modules related to event planning, operations, experience design, and event production.

    You will be expected to teach at our High Wycombe campus

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Lecturer in Event Management
School: Creative and Digital Industries
Grade: G
Location: Relevant School campus as advised, with travel to other campuses as required
Responsible to: Head of School / designee

EDUCATION:

  • To undertake research-informed teaching in the subject discipline managing all aspects of curriculum delivery and the associated student experience to the highest standards in accordance with the University’s requirements and the TEF.
  • To undertake associated activities in connection with the courses taught including: module and course leadership; curriculum development; personal tutoring student recruitment; assessment, review and evaluation.
  • To achieve good student satisfaction – demonstrating ‘customer focus’ and achieving strong NSS results.
  • Demonstrate inclusive practice in curriculum design and delivery. Work to eliminate attainment gaps.
  • To contribute to Open Days, school, college and partnership links and the marketing and promotional work of the Department and School.
  • To support students in supervising placements, learning in practice, internships and work-related activities.
  • To deliver pastoral care to, and project supervision of, students.
  • To plan and deliver the curriculum using appropriate digital technologies, including the use of IT and multimedia.
  • To provide effective feedback, support and guidance to students, which promotes improvement of performance.
  • To evaluate the effectiveness of your practice; use data and student feedback to identify opportunities to enhance the quality of your teaching and the outcomes for learners. Proactively work with colleagues in the School and across the University to share good practice, seek opportunities to enhance practice, and thereby demonstrably enhance the student experience and outcomes
  • To undertake and promote cross disciplinary teaching to contribute to the success of the wider University.
  • To engage in professional development activities (e.g. CPD, attendance at conferences) relating to teaching, learning and assessment.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

Relevant teaching experience in the UK or European HE sectors
