Job title: Lecturer in Management (Teaching and Research)

We are looking for outstanding scholars whose record indicates excellence and promise of future leadership in both research and teaching. We are looking to develop our departmental expertise in relation to the field of management, and with an interest towards contemporary world challenges – from sustainability to data science, from climate change to financial stability, from healthcare to education, from poverty reduction to water-food-energy security. We are especially interested in experts on quantitatively-oriented topics and methodologies.
The role holder will be expected to teach and develop courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the field of management, in both on campus and Online and Distance Learning programmes, to undertake academic advising and MSc and PhD supervision, and to contribute to the administrative tasks in the department. Regional specialism in Asia, Africa, and the Middle East is welcome. Examples of courses include Quantitative and Analytical Techniques for Managers; Trends, Forecasts and Decision Making; Data Analytics; Project Management. The person will have expertise that is relevant to the vision and strategy of SOAS, including a strong interest towards issues of particular importance to the Global South.
We look for promise of future research leadership evidenced by a strong and original PhD, a track record of publications in high quality, peered review outlets (subject to experience), experience of teaching in HEIs, and ambition for future research projects.
