The University of Hull is seeking a Lecturer in Mathematics to join our newly formed School of Digital and Physical Sciences, which brings together Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, and the Centre of Excellence for Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Modelling (DAIM). This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic, collaborative academic environment.
Mathematics at Hull has a proud tradition — from the legacy of John Venn to our current ranking as 2nd in the UK for student satisfaction (Complete University Guide 2026). Our research spans fundamental and applied areas, with strong cross-disciplinary connections to AI, data science, and physical sciences.

We are looking for a talented mathematician who will:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching and student supervision;
  • Conduct and publish impactful research;
  • Develop collaborations across the School and wider University;

Expertise in areas such as cryptography or fluid dynamics would be particularly welcome.
If you are an excellent communicator with a growing or established research profile and a passion for teaching and collaboration, we would love to hear from you.
