In this role, you’ll inspire the next generation of engineers, advance your own research and scholarship, and contribute to the profession through professional, community, and iwi engagement. Salary will be in the range of $90,125 to $107,452 per year (pro-rata) based on the skills, knowledge and experience brought to the position. This is a fixed term, full-time role (37.5 hours a week), for 18 months to cover Maternity Leave. This role will be based on our Hillcrest Campus. You are an enthusiastic academic with a PhD in Mechanical Engineering (or close to completion) and expertise in applied mechanics, design, structural analysis, mathematical modelling, and experimental analysis. You are passionate about teaching and bring innovative methods to the classroom, from project-based learning to distance delivery. You’re a motivated researcher with evidence of scholarly achievement and a desire to grow your research portfolio through publications, collaborations, and postgraduate supervision. With strong communication and time management skills, you thrive in both independent and team environments and are committed to contributing to departmental and university service. Ideally, you’ll also bring curriculum development experience, industry connections, and the ability to attract research funding and high-quality postgraduate students.
