LECTURER IN MODERN HISTORY (TEACHING AND SCHOLARSHIP)
The School of Global Affairs at Lancaster University is seeking to appoint a new Lecturer in Modern History (Teaching and Scholarship).* This is a 0.8FTE, one-year fixed term post, starting on 1 September 2025. The candidate should have experience of undergraduate teaching, and ideally experience of postgraduate teaching as well. The candidate should have an active programme of scholarship and / or research. The successful applicant will be expected to have completed their PhD, or be within an anticipated 12 months of award.
The successful candidate will be required to teach on a range of undergraduate, and possibly postgraduate-taught, modules. In addition, the candidate will make a more general contribution to History teaching programmes at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, for example by contributing to team-taught modules and supervising dissertations. The successful candidate may be expected to assume responsibility for various administrative tasks and will be expected to play a full role as a member of the History community at Lancaster.
