Description

This is a full-time, fixed-term position until 31st July 2026.
Bishop Grosseteste University (BGU) is located on a beautifully green and pleasant campus just a few minutes’ walk from Lincoln Cathedral, Castle, and the old Roman city. Our story began in the 1860s as an Anglican teacher training college for women, which makes us one of the oldest Higher Education Institutions in the UK. Since then, we’ve grown, adapted, and modernised to become the thriving university we are today. We’re still experts in teaching and education, but we’ve now got a wider portfolio of exciting degree courses than ever before. We currently offer courses in a wide range of subjects, from Undergraduate Degree level to PhD, and much more in between.
We are currently recruiting for an inspirational Lecturer in Special Educational Needs, Disability and Inclusion. We are seeking to appoint a collegial, enthusiastic addition to our team for a fixed-term position until 31st July 2026.
The postholder will need a demonstrable passion and depth of understanding in relation to Special Education alongside a commitment to providing a first-class student experience and enthusiasm for student recruitment. The successful candidate would be expected to contribute to module delivery on the SENDI undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, and other areas of the institution’s portfolio as appropriate. We are particularly looking for someone who can support students in their learning journey and is confident in abilities to quickly assimilate processes to ensure support aligns with university processes.

BGU offers a generous employee benefits package including:

  • 25 days holiday for Grades 1-6
  • 35 days holiday for Grades 7+
  • Plus 3 additional discretionary days annual leave over the Christmas period
  • A Teachers Pension scheme offering up to 23.68% Employer Contribution, and a 10% non-contributory pension for members of staff that do not wish to pay into a scheme.
  • Cycle to Work Scheme
  • Electric Car Salary Sacrifice Scheme
  • 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme including free online GP services and face to face counselling sessions
  • Agile Working Scheme to support employees work-life balance

Interviews expected to take place w/c 26th August 2025.
