Description

YOU SHOULD APPLY IF

You should apply if you are a social scientist with a passion for teaching your subject in innovative, inclusive and integrated ways. You will have a PhD or equivalent doctorate in your field and experience of teaching in a higher education setting.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE

The postholder will join an experienced, innovative team of Social Science academics delivering teaching and research at Bristol Dental School. The role offers an exciting opportunity for appropriately qualified social scientists to develop their teaching, management and potentially research portfolio while helping shape our curricula to maintain their innovative and engaging edge.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

The role primarily involves teaching undergraduate dental students the psychology and sociology of health in formal lectures, small group teaching, and simulated communication scenarios, across our integrated, modern curricula. You will be supported by senior colleagues to deliver a comprehensive training in the social sciences relevant to dentistry, including in our innovative communication skills vertical theme. You will be involved in the breadth of teaching activity including course design, delivery, and assessment. The post holder will contribute to the advancement and organisation of curricula and, where appropriate, wider management in the School. There will be opportunities in research for suitably qualified individuals.

THE INTERVIEW DATE FOR THIS ROLE WILL BE 13/08/2025
