As part of one of the world’s top 20 universities and a proud member of Australia’s prestigious Group of Eight, UNSW Canberra stands out for its commitment to being thoughtful, practical, and purposeful in everything we do.
Joining UNSW Canberra means more than just taking a job—it’s about becoming part of a community where you’re encouraged to thrive, take on meaningful challenges, and make a real impact. We foster a culture where innovation, collaboration, and excellence are at the heart of our work.
At UNSW, we pride ourselves on being a workplace where the best people come to do their best work. If you’re looking for a career that’s both rewarding and inspiring, you’ve found the right place.
WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS:
UNSW Canberra is seeking a Lecturer in International and Political Studies to join the School of Humanities and Social Sciences. This role is ideal for a dynamic academic with a passion for teaching and research in politics, international relations, or a related field. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality education, advancing the School’s research profile, and contributing to a vibrant academic community.
This genuinely balanced role offers lower teaching loads relative to other universities, giving you dedicated time to pursue impactful research. You’ll contribute to both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching—approximately half of your teaching will be at each level—with a mix of on-campus delivery and online postgraduate engagement.
The School values collaboration, collegiality, and a team-player mindset. We’re looking for someone who thrives in a supportive academic environment, is comfortable pitching in to help colleagues, and is committed to delivering high-quality, student-focused education.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
UNSW is committed to helping staff balance work-life responsibilities, by providing access to high-quality services, facilities, and flexible work and leave arrangements.
