Job Description The School of Applied Psychology is one of Australia’s leading schools for teaching, research, and professional training in psychology, with a strong commitment to advancing knowledge that improves lives and strengthens communities. As a Lecturer (Level B) Psychology, you’ll play a key role in shaping the next generation of psychologists and researchers. You’ll make informed contributions to teaching, research, and engagement across Griffith’s undergraduate and postgraduate Psychology and Counselling programs. Here’s how you’ll make it matter: Deliver high-quality, student-centred learning experiences that foster active engagement, curiosity, and success. Coordinate and teach courses within the School’s Undergraduate Psychology and Counselling programs, supporting innovative and authentic learning practices. Supervise Honours and PhD students, guiding the next generation of researchers to achieve excellence and impact. Develop and sustain a program of impactful research in areas such as behaviour change, applied cognition and human performance, or in psychological areas related to traffic and driving safety. Engage with industry and the broader community to enhance employability outcomes and promote work-integrated learning opportunities. This is a fixed-term (until 31 Dec 2027), full-time position primarily based at Griffith University’s Gold Coast campus. As Griffith is a multi-campus university, you may be required to work across other locations. Griffith University’s campuses are situated on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples. Salary Range The full time equivalent base salary will be Academic Level B range $113,226 - $134,460 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $132,474 - $157,318 per annum. Qualifications What matters most is your drive to create a brighter future that benefits all. You will also have: A PhD or doctoral qualification in Psychology or a related field. Demonstrated research expertise in one or more of the following: behaviour change, applied cognition and human performance, or traffic and driving safety. A developing track record of high-quality research outputs, with potential for future funding and impact. A passion for innovative teaching that fosters student success and supports evidence-based learning. Excellent collaboration, communication, and mentoring skills to engage effectively with students, colleagues, and external partners. Registration as a psychologist in Australia with AHPRA (regarded but not mandatory.)
