William Hammack School of Business (HSB) at Oglethorpe University invites applications for a full-time one-year faculty member as Lecturer in Marketing beginning in fall 2026. A Lecturer typically teach four courses per semester on a ten-month contract. The Hammack School of Business offers majors in the areas of accounting, business administration, economics, business economics, human resource management, and management along with minors in nonprofit management and museum studies. The Hammack School launched a new MBA program in fall 2023. Over 25% of all Oglethorpe undergraduates select a major within the HSB, making it one of the largest academic units on campus. About Oglethorpe University Founded in 1835, Oglethorpe University is a liberal arts college that unites a close-knit campus community with the big city culture and opportunities of Atlanta, Georgia. Today, the university enrolls close to 1,400 students, representing 33 states and 31 countries, and offers students Atlanta’s premiere undergraduate learning experience. Students at Oglethorpe benefit from small classes and close connections to our outstanding faculty. Qualifications A Master’s in Marketing or Business – Ph.D., DBA or ADB candidates are welcome. Field experience is preferred. Teaching experience is preferred. High quality teaching is the expectation at Oglethorpe. The ideal candidate will be able to actively engage a diverse classroom of students using pedagogical techniques and methods appropriate for a teaching oriented liberal arts college. The candidate should be prepared to teach a range of marketing courses including principles, advanced undergraduate, and the MBA. Opportunities to teach abroad are also sometimes available. While teaching is the highest priority, the ideal candidate will commit to professional engagement appropriate to stay current in the field of marketing. Service to the University and HSB is also expected. Service may include mentoring students, university and HSB committee assignments, and assessment activities.
