    Are you an experienced criminology academic who is passionate about inspiring the next generation of criminology professionals? The University of Southern Queensland’s (UniSQ) School of Law and Justice is seeking a dedicated Lecturer or Senior Lecturer (Criminology) to join their team at either our Toowoomba or Ipswich campus.
    The criminology discipline within our School of Law and Justice teaches into the Associate Degree of Criminology and Criminal Justice, and the Bachelor of Arts criminology major and extended major. Building on our reputation of delivering current and critical teachings within criminal justice, we are developing a Bachelor of Criminology and Criminal Justice degree, with majors in criminal justice and corrections. You will have a significant role in helping to shape this degree.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Reporting to the Head of School and Dean (Law and Justice), you will:

  • Teach and Inspire: Drawing on your excellent disciplinary knowledge in criminology you will deliver engaging lectures that captivate and challenge students, integrating best practices and contemporary digital technologies.
  • Conduct Research: Lead and collaborate on impactful research projects, producing high-quality outputs and securing external research funding.
  • Mentor Students: Supervise honours and postgraduate research students, guiding them to successful and timely completions.
  • Collaborate: Work with colleagues across disciplines to enhance learning and teaching quality and contribute to the School’s research agendas.

This role offers the opportunity to be appointed as either a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer, depending on your qualifications and experience.
