ABOUT YOU
You should have an enthusiasm for teaching and sharing knowledge and be able to share this enthusiasm with others. You should have higher degree in astrophysics, physics or a closely related discipline and meet all the essential criteria in the job description.
Applicants with an expertise in astrophysics as well as other aspects of the physics teaching portfolio are encouraged to apply.
We are looking for a lecturer with enthusiasm for physics and astrophysics to join the Department of Physics as a 3-year fixed term lecturer with a focus on astrophysics.
The appointee will perform a variety of teaching tasks, including lecturing to undergraduate students, running tutorials and problem classes, contributing to computational labs and supervising undergraduate student final year projects.
In addition to these tasks, the appointee may contribute to developing new teaching activities, especially in the areas of astrophysics and computing. This could include developing teaching and outreach activities related to the Bath Physics Observatory or developing outreach activities in collaboration with academics in the department.
Whilst it is expected that the teaching will be informed by research/professional expertise, there is no research component to this role. There is an allocation of time for scholarship and own professional development.
