Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Lecturer in Public Services, you will deliver high-quality teaching across a range of levels, support student development, and contribute to curriculum innovation. You will act as a Programme Tutor for a caseload of students, ensuring they receive an engaging and supportive learning experience that prepares them for success in their chosen career paths.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver engaging and inclusive teaching across a range of Public Services courses.
  • Act as a Programme Tutor, supporting student progress, behaviour, and attendance.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality teaching resources, schemes of work, and lesson plans.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, maintaining accurate records.
  • Promote Maths and English development within all lessons.
  • Build relationships with industry partners to enhance learning and progression opportunities.
  • Participate in curriculum development and quality assurance processes.
  • Support recruitment activities including open days and promotional events.

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A relevant degree or Level 3 qualification in Public Services or a related subject.
  • A teaching qualification or substantial industry experience (or willingness to work towards a teaching qualification).
  • Industry experience within the public/uniformed services sector (e.g. Army, Navy, RAF, Fire, Police, Criminology).
  • Experience of using innovative teaching techniques in Further Education.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
