THE IIE VARSITY COLLEGE , WESTVILLE HAS A VACANCY FOR A LECTURER WITHIN THE SCHOOL OF HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES AND THE SCHOOL OF EDUCATION FOR THE BELOW MODULES:

• Foundation Phase Mathematics (MAFU5112)
• Intermediate Phase Mathematics (TIMA6212)

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with Mathematics up to the third-year level, or a Postgraduate Certificate that includes Mathematics.
• Alternatively, a B.Ed. Honour’s degree or Postgraduate Diploma in Education (NQF level 8), provided that Mathematics is included in either the undergraduate or postgraduate qualification.
• The qualification must also include a module in Teaching & Learning / Pedagogy at either level.

Minimum Work Experience Requirements:

• School-based experience in teaching Mathematics within the Intermediate Phase, Senior Phase, or Further Education and Training (FET) Phase is essential.
• Ideally, candidates should also have lecturing experience at the tertiary level.

Working Conditions:

• Please note that this is a Part-time role with lectures taking place between 08:00 and 17:00.
• Preference will be given to South African Citizens and Permanent Residents of South Africa in possession of proof of permanent resident status.
