POSITION OVERVIEW:
IHM is seeking an experienced and motivated Lecturer in Nursing to join our team. This role involves teaching and supporting students enrolled in the School of Nursing programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging lectures, leading practical sessions, and providing academic support to students, ensuring they gain the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in their future careers. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Essential: Master’s degree or Phd in nursing, is highly regarded.
- Registration: Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in nursing practice; previous teaching experience in a tertiary education setting is highly desirable.
- Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills; ability to engage and inspire students.
- Knowledge: Up-to-date knowledge of nursing practices and commitment to evidence-based education.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality lectures and tutorials for the School of Nursing programs.
- Prepare and deliver lectures, assessments, and course resources.
- Facilitate clinical skills training and laboratory sessions in line with industry standards.
- Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, exams, and practical assessments.
- Provide academic guidance and mentorship to support student learning and success.
- Providing academic advice and guidance to students, supporting their educational and personal development.
- Implement strategies to enhance student progression and reduce attrition, ensuring a positive student experience throughout their academic journey.
- Regularly gather and analyse student satisfaction feedback to improve course delivery and address areas of concern.
- Engage in continuous professional development and research activities to maintain current knowledge in nursing practice and pedagogy.
- Collaborate with the academic team to ensure the curriculum meets current industry requirements.
- Monitor and support key performance metrics including student completion rate, progression rate, satisfaction rate, and attrition rate to meet institutional goals.
