We are looking for a Qualified Solicitor or Barrister with practical dispute resolution experience to join our team as a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Dispute Resolution. As a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Dispute Resolution, you will be reporting to the Head of Dispute Resolution, you will be providing tuition across the BPC and supporting the design and administration of the Higher Rights of Audience assessment. Our delivery model operates on a 5-over-7-day working pattern, which may include evenings and weekends, reflecting the flexible way our students learn. As our Lecturer/Senior Lecturer - Dispute Resolution, you will: Teach and provide a high standard of tuition. Provide dedicated support to the Programme Lead - Higher Rights of Audience - Assessments in designing and administering the Higher Rights of Audience assessments. Carry out the invigilating and marking of assessments and examinations, and the conducting and marking of practical assessments (including the marking of delegates written assignments and examinations), as appropriate. Contribute to the updating of Programmes to reflect developments in teaching and delivery practices, including on-line and blended programmes. Participate in Student recruitment and Business Development activities as required. Please note: In addition to the above duties, a Senior Lecturer will have developed significant expertise in a broad range of activities and competencies that are required in our environment such as: Advocacy training at a post-qualification level (Higher Courts advocacy experience essential; advocacy training qualifications/ accreditation desirable) Application and practical delivery of a range of teaching techniques Assessments and marking Is this you?: Qualifications: Undergraduate degree or equivalent in a relevant subject. Qualified Solicitor or Barrister, with substantial practice/chamber experience Experience: Practical dispute resolution experience, including experience as a Higher Courts advocate. You will also be experienced in delivering Advocacy training and vocational or professional training, teaching to qualified lawyers on CPD programmes Skills: High level of enthusiasm and motivation, excellent communication and presentation skills. Flexibility: You must be able to travel nationally to deliver courses as required, as well as attending courses and events taking place at venues outside of our campuses. Requirements for Lecturer positions: Undergraduate degree or equivalent in a relevant subject Fellowship of Advance HE (HEA) or equivalent or willingness to work towards* Relevant teaching qualification or willingness to work towards PGCHE* * Please note that if you do not currently hold this, it is a requirement of the University that you will enrol into the programme (delivered and financially supported by the University), usually within 12 months of passing probation. Successful completion/qualification is essential to this role.
